The Next Honest Step
AI can make the future feel enormous.
🟨💚 The Next Honest Step
AI can make the future feel enormous.
There are new tools every day. New promises. New warnings. New claims about what will change, who will be replaced, what must be learned, and how quickly everyone is supposed to adapt.
That can be exciting.
It can also be too much.
On the Yellow Brick Road to AI, we do not need to pretend that the whole path is visible. It is not.
The better question is simpler:
What is the next honest step?
Not the most impressive step.
Not the fastest step.
Not the step someone else says you should take.
The next honest one.
For one person, that might mean asking AI to explain a confusing topic in plain language.
For another, it might mean using AI to organize a messy list.
For another, it might mean learning how to check an AI answer before trusting it.
For another, it might mean pausing long enough to ask, “What am I actually trying to do here?”
That counts.
A small step taken with care is better than a dramatic leap taken blindly.
AI rewards curiosity, but it also requires discernment. It can help us think, write, plan, learn, and create. But it cannot decide for us what kind of people we want to become, what kind of work is worth doing, or what kind of future deserves our loyalty.
That part remains human.
So today, do not worry about mastering the whole AI age.
Ask one better question.
Try one useful thing.
Notice what helps.
Notice what does not.
Keep your judgment awake.
Keep your lantern lit.
Then take the next honest step.

The AI age can feel enormous.
But you do not have to master the whole road today.

Keep your judgment awake.
Keep your lantern lit.
Then take the next honest step.
